This study which is based on emperical research and the processing of data presented by the National Statistics Service of Grecce, examines the employment situation of secondary school leavers for the years 1980-87, and specifically those who did not continue into higher education. It was found that unumployment and the type of employment of school leavers depends mainly on the geographical location [urban areas have favourable results] and their sex. Inthis study an attempt was also made to underline the factors which affect unemployment and the type of employment available to school leavers.
