Summary:
This study on ‘Bottleneck Vacancies 2015’ was an exercise in examining the availability of data on shortage occupations across the EU member states Public Employment Services (PES), including Norway. It was requested by the European Commission as part of the ‘Service contract for measures to enhance cooperation between Public Employment Services (PES), in particular services to implement the bench-learning concept within the network of PES’ project’.
An important feature of the study is the inclusion of a proposal for the development of a model for future data collection and exchange on bottleneck occupations in Europe. The model which is proposed is easy to use, elegant, and utilises attractive modern info-graphics.
The study includes an overview of the differences and similarities across EU PES of the data on shortages. It also includes information on the methods, indicators and sources used to identify shortages, and on the frequency and ability to comment on shortage attributes ( ...   read more ...
