Abstract:
One of the main responsibilities of the ETSC stated in the 9th article of the service contract with the Ministry of Education and Culture is to enhance the quality of the learning provision and counselling done by recognised bodies by developing quality standards in consultation with the Ministry. The ETSC has implemented the EQM system in Iceland, a quality assurance system for providers within the non-formal sector, and 13 learning providers from ETSC’s cooperative network, together with one member from outside ETSC’s cooperative network fulfil the EQM standards and have been granted the European Quality Mark. In addition, another member from outside ETSC’s cooperative network has begun the certification process. Also, ETSC is working on quality standards for guidance and counselling and has participated in a Nordplus project concerning quality standards for validation of former learning.
