The study presents the concept paper addressing the revamping and development of the Hungarian VET system, as worked out by the Ministry of National Economy that is responsible for the field. It looks at the school types, as well as the state and tasks of examinations and management and control. A separate chapter is dedicated to a financing tool, vocational education contribution. It also introduces innovations, already implemented at the time of the writing of this article, and their expected impact on the labour market. It gives an overview of European VET systems, with a special emphasis on issues related to the dual VET system.
