The aim of the research was to explore employment motivations and, based on the findings, to define measures which contribute to enhancing the drive to work and succes at finding employment. In the course of the survey researchers made a review of relevant literature, analyzed interviews and questionnaires, and they created a model which describes how factors affecting employment-related decisions operate. Results indicate that the group of people affected by long term unemployment is very diverse and it is not true that only people with low qualifications become excluded form the labour market permanently. There are only very few legal employment opportunities left in the labour market for people with low qualifications. According to the findings, wages are an important aspect with respect to motivation but the meaning and utility of the work is an important element even for low qualified workers.

A kutatási összefoglalóban bemutatott kutatás célja az volt, hogy a munkavállalással kapcsolatos motivációk feltárása nyomán meghatározzon olyan intézkedéseket, melyekkel növelheto a munkavállalási kedv és sikeresség. A felmérés során feldolgozták a vonatkozó szakirodalmat, kialakítottak egy modellt, mely bemutatja a munkavállalási döntésekben szerepet játszó tényezok muködését, valamint interjúkat és kérdoíveket értékeltek. Az eredmények azt mutatják, hogy pl. a tartós munkanélküliek összetétele igen változatos, nem igaz az a vélekedés, hogy csak az alacsony iskolai végzettséguek szorulnak ki tartósan a munka világából.
