Platon is quoted saying: “I don’t know what quality is until I see it.” These words reflect the idea that quality is subjective and based on individual expectations to specific goods or service. Quality can, however, be defined objectively with regard to previously defined criteria or standards. This article focuses on the quality criteria of the Education and Training Service Centre (FA) and a European project RECALL – Recognition of Quality in Lifelong Learning that is aimed at generally introducing quality assurance into European adult education. The RECALL project ends in November 2008 with a closing conference on the EQM validation in Vilnius, Lithuania.
