Abstract:

This report evaluates the social experiment with open computer rooms for women which has taken place in Denmark since 1984. The report maps out the different types of data rooms, describes in detail 7 such initiatives, evaluates the effects of the courses, and discusses the specific female pedagogy, which has been developed and used in these open computer rooms for women. It is concluded that these unique computer learning centres have been successful in creating computer literacy among unemployed women.
