The Qualitätsinitiative Berufsbildung (VET Quality Initiative, QIBB for short) was launched in the year 2004 as a quality programme of school-based VET in Austria. It builds on recognised principles of modern quality management systems and complements traditional long-term procedures to safeguard the quality of the education system. QIBB sees itself as part of the Europe-wide quality process, uses the ideas of the Common Quality Assurance Framework (CQAF) and transfers them to national conditions. QIBB, die QualitätsInitiative BerufsBildung ist die Strategie der Sektion Berufsbildung des Bundesministeriums für Unterricht, Kunst und Kultur (BMUKK) zur Einführung eines umfassenden Qualitätsmanagementsystems im österreichischen berufsbildenden Schulwesen. Im Zentrum stehen die systematische Sicherung und Weiterentwicklung sowohl der Unterrichtsqualität, als auch der Qualität der Verwaltungsleistungen.
