Abstract:
Senior secondary vocational education in the Netherlands will be experiencing two complex processes over the next few years, viz. the redesign of the qualification structure in which all existing qualifications will be replaced by a cohesive set of new qualifications, and the redesign of vocational education in which all existing programmes will be replaced by new ones. During a trial period, Centres of Expertise on Vocational Education, Training and the Labour Market [kbb] and educational institutes (Regional Training Centres, specialised vocational schools and agricultural training centres) will be able to gain experience with these redesign processes by means of what are known as experimental gardens (2004- 2005) and experiments, implemented under the direction of a joint process management.
