A response to the final report entitled Beroepswijs Beroepsonderwijs compiled by the working party on the Dynamisation of Education of the Innovation Platform headed by Mr Leijnse. This report argues a case for vocational education that, more than ever before, centres on professional practice and has a much higher degree of interwoveness between working and learning, from pre-vocational secondary education [vmbo] to higher professional education [hbo]. The government s response first presents the essence of the Innovation Platform s report. This is followed by a discussion of the government s vision and the promotion of education focused on professional practice, linked to advice from the Education Advisory Council and the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands. Reactie op het eindrapport Beroepswijs Beroepsonderwijs van de Werkgroep Dynamisering Onderwijs van het Innovatieplatform onder leiding van de heer Leijnse. In dit rapport wordt gepleit voor een beroepsonderwijs dat meer dan ooit arbeidsnabij is, dat een veel grotere verstrengeling kent tussen het werken en leren van vmbo, tot hbo. De kabinetsreactie is als volgt opgebouwd. Allereerst wordt de essentie van het rapport van het Innovatieplatform weergegeven. Vervolgens wordt ingegaan op de visie van het kabinet en de beweging die in het beroepsonderwijs gestimuleerd wordt om arbeidsnabijheid te bevorderen; hierbij wordt ook een relatie gelegd met adviezen van de Onderwijsraad en de SER. Tot slot wordt aangegeven welk instrumentarium het kabinet inzet om deze beweging in gang te zetten met een streefbeeld per 2008.
