This report describes a study on the development of personnel and their skills among teachers at universities of higher professional education. The study focuses on the extent to which universities do their best to develop personnel skills, both in policy and in actual practice, how the various institutes differ in that respect and how these differences relate to specific attributes such as general personnel policy and to organisational characteristics such as size, nature of personnel, courses on offer, and organisational structure. Because a study such as this has already been carried out among teachers in vocational training and adult education, it was possible to compare both sectors on that score.

Verslag van een onderzoek naar personeelsontwikkeling en competentieontwikkeling van docenten in het hbo. In het onderzoek gaat het met name om de vraag in welke mate de hogescholen zich beleidsmatig en daadwerkelijk inspannen voor competentieontwikkeling van hun personeel, welke verschillen er op dit punt tussen de hogescholen bestaan en hoe deze verschillen samenhangen met karakterisitieken, zoals het personeelsbeleid in algemene zin en met de organisatiekenmerken instellingsgrootte, personeelskenmerken, opleidingsaanbod en organisatiestructuur.
