Abstract:

The reform of the Danish vocational education and training system came into force on 1 January 2001. Prior to the implementation of the reform, a number of development projects had been initiated in order to test and assess the new reform elements. The development projects encompassed both the basic and the main programmes at technical colleges. During the test period, trainees in the new basic and main programmes were interviewed in order to document the experiences they made. This publication describes trainee attitudes to and experiences with the new vocational education and training programmes. The publication describes different themes of importance to the continuous reform work: trainee choice of basic and main programmes, trainee attitudes to and opinions of teaching and new educational methods, trainee experiences with the personal education plan and tutoring.  The reform of the Danish vocational education and training system came into force on 1 January 2001.
