In 1996, the Danish Parliament granted 96 Mio. DKK for the internal quality development at Danish vocational schools, the Q-90 Project. The background for the project was a disturbing decrease in the number of applicants and a relatively large number of drop-outs from the vocational training programmes. The aim of the project was thus to increase the quality of the educational offers at the schools and consequently, attract more students. In this report, the background and the framework for the Q-90 project is presented. The project furthermore describes the state of affairs within four prioritised areas: management, personnel, school environment, and educational equipment, e.g., computers.
