The findings of this report on the accessibility and sexual equality of vocational education and training are based on national investigations and statistical analyses dealing with the realization of educational expectations, the admittance to working life and further training of young people and the accessibility and extent of the national educational institutions network. In this report by accessibility and educational equality is meant that every young person (resident in Finland) shall have equal opportunities to acquire the vocational training of his orher own choice, irrespective of their gender, place of residence or social background. The report endeavours to compare the current situation with the set objectives. Since the report has been delimited to the areas mentioned above, only the extent to which these objectives have been attained has been evaluated.
