The article refers to the major problem of unemployment in Greece providing data on the manpower employed in the three economic sectors (primary, secondary, tertiary) as well as comparative data on employed/unemployed men and women. Additionally, there are data on unemployed persons according to age, economic sector, educational level, duration of unemployment in Greece and unemployment percentages in Greece, the European Union and OECD countries. All data are provided by the Greek National Statistics Service, ESYE. It is proposed to set up an Economic and Social Committee,OKE, to be engaged in the fight against unemployment.
